Reese channels her inner "Elle Woods" in D.C.

Reese Witherspoon shared a red carpet with the likes of Hilary Clinton at the Vital Voices 2010 Global Leadership Awards in Washington D.C. (said via JustJared.com, March 10).

In reference to fashionable yet powerful women in D.C., Witherspoon says her Elle Woods character from "Legally Blonde" is no longer the head honcho. "As an actress," says Witherspoon, "I have always sought out roles that portrayed women as strong and powerful. [Elle] happened to be the biggest fashionista who ever came to Washington until Michelle Obama. Thanks a lot."

Witherspoon and Mrs. Obama share something else in common. The actress wore a blue minidress designed by Jason Wu, the same designer whom made Mrs. Obama inaugural dress.

The gorgeous all-white gown was recently donated to the "First Ladies at the Smithsonian" exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum in D.C. (Click HERE for more info).
