Katherine Heigl prays for "Grey's Anatomy"

Whether it be a genuine or misleading gesture, Katherine Heigl covers the latest issue of "Entertainment Weekly" with her hands folded in prayer (said via EW, March 24).

In the issue, the actress discusses her primary reason for leaving "Grey's Anatomy," that being the adoption of her newborn daughter, Naleigh: I started a family and it changed everything for me. It changed my desire to work full-time.

This desire led to an 18-month breach of contract for the star, detailing that Heigl's last episode as Dr. Izzy Stevens aired 2 months prior, January 21, on the ABC network.

In a statement to EW, ABC said this of Heigl's departure: By mutual agreement, Katherine Heigl has ended her successful run as Dr. Isobel Stevens. The studio wishes her well. Everyone at Grey’s Anatomy is now focused on delivering a shocking season finale and a great show for seasons to come.

Heigl acknowledges that she is "disappointing the fans," yet wishes high hopes for the cast and show that made her a star.
