As the blogosphere vehemently noted of Lana Del Rey's SNL performance, it was quite awkward. She kept swaying back and forth and didn't know how to control her voice. However, in this performance of "Video Games" on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, Lana truly "did a 180." She kept everything steady and smooth and made more use of her stunning voice.
Her debut album, Born to Die, is due for release January 31.
As an LA socialite, it is not peculiar to see Rihanna walking around the city in her usual chic attire. However, what is on people's (and paparazzi's) minds the most is what her new "Thug Life" tattoo looks like up close.
See a close-up photo (in addition to others) after the jump!
The diva has so many tattoos to date that I've lost count (and I'm a Rihanna STAN). Nonetheless, Rihanna tweeted pictures of herself at a tattoo parlor in the wee hours of the morning (January 25). One shows her getting an unseen tattoo on her back (above), while in the other, she's showing off a 2Pac-resembling "Thug Life" tattoo on her hands (below). Feeling a little rebellious, are we?
SIDE NOTE: I know this video isn't new in the slightest, but I just stumbled upon it today while looking through videos on Vevo and I have to say...not bad. The song still gets on my nerves, but the concept of the video actually makes me want to give the song a chance. Good job!
Rihanna is known for having a fabulous body and was not afraid to show it off during a vacation in Hawaii (January 17). She was snapped by paparazzi on a boat with friends, but personally tweeted photos of herself in a quite revealing bathing suit.
It is a known fact that most post-incarcerated persons in America face harsh economic hindrances following their release, many confronting the possibility of becoming homeless. According to a December 2003 study by the Vera Institute of Justice with a reference to the 2001 text From Prison to Home by The Urban Institute, at any given time in Los Angeles and San Francisco, 30 to 50 percent of people under parole supervision are homeless. In New York City, nearly 20 percent of persons released will become homeless. Though a direct correlation between incarceration and homelessness is not clear, what is clear is that there is a growing number of women facing these conditions with strategists scrambling discern the various causes. However, as prominently noted with all post-incarcerated persons, many women are denied housing and employment because of their past, leaving them and their children struggling to make ends meet and, possibly, out on the streets and struggling to live. In the Greater Philadelphia Area, these troubling conditions have remained prominent in recent years. One solution is the area's faith-based organization Mothers of Tomorrow (MOT).
Everybody remembers the infamous "Leave Britney Alone" rant posted by Chris Crocker on YouTube following Britney Spears' sloppy performance at the 2007 MTV VMAs. Afterwards, Crocker and his flamboyant ways took YouTube and the world by storm, with the "star" getting millions of hits daily on his YouTube and social media accounts. What should be remembered most about Crocker, however, is that he wasn't afraid to show his feminine side, often wearing long, blonde wigs, heels and dresses in his YouTube videos. Astonishingly, Crocker has recently gone through a makeover, now embracing his masculinity, in hopes that it will help him regain his notoriety.
Crocker recently sat down with The Huffington's Post's Noah Michelson to discuss his new look and future projects. To read the interview in its entirety, click HERE.
