Actor Gary Coleman dead at age 42

Diff'rent Strokes actor Gary Coleman died at age 42 in Provo, Utah, Friday (said via The New York Times, May 28). The actor was hospitalized Thursday due to an inter-cranial hemorrhage from a recent fall and died after being removed from life support.

The 4 foot 8 inch actor suffered multitudinous health problems in his life--a number due to his congenital kidney disease, stunting his growth--as well as financial woes and arrests, starting in 1990s, which caused his career's downfall.

Coleman has been publicly known to loathe his years as a child actor and is quoted his saying that he would not wish them on anyone. As stated in The New York Times, Coleman admitted (via The Vancouver Province), "I would not give my first 15 years to my worst enemy, and I don’t even have a worst enemy."

The troubled star received an estimate of 20 acting roles since Diff'rent Strokes ended in 1986 (NBC and ABC). He filed for bankruptcy in 1999 and appeared on Divorce Court in 2008 with wife Shannon Price. However, the couple stayed together.

He is survived by Price, whom was at his side during his final hours.

Gary and his parents, Sue and Willie Coleman, were estranged since the late 1980s, when he sued them for attempting to steal his multi-million dollar estate (said via People, May 29). The Colemans have long denied such claim and had only found out about their son's death via news headlines.
