Casey Johnson's Death: Long-term battle with diabetes

Natural causes are said to have killed the 30-year-old Johnson & Johnson heiress, Casey Johnson, according to People.com. The Los Angeles County Coroner announced Johnson's autopsy findings the same day that Brittany Murphy's cause of death was declared. The actress died of a combination of pneumonia, anemia and a cocktail of over-the-counter drugs (February 4).

In reference to Johnson, People.com reports that the heiress had neglected her insulin treatments and would often smoke and drink heavily. Johnson's official cause of death is related to her lifelong battle with a severe case of diabetes, called "diabetic ketoacidosis."

The heiress was found dead in her LA home on January 4, 15 days after Brittany Murphy was pronounced dead in the same Californian city.

The Johnson & Johnson Co., created by Johnson's great-great-grandfather in the late 1800s, leaves a gratuitous fortune which will be inherited by her adopted daughter, Ava (3). The toddler currently lives with her grandmother, Sale, and her husband, news sportscaster Ahmad Rashad.

The late heiress' father, Robert Wood Johnson, is the owner of the New York Jets and has spoken little publicly about his daughter's death.

Johnson was engaged to MTV reality star Tila Tequila at the time, whom was succumbed with grief over the shocking news.
