If you don't know who Emmy Rossum is, you should!
The singer/song-writer/actress began singing in opera houses at a tender age and has sung in operatic performances worldwide. As peers and critics took notice, she landed roles in TV-movies, commercials, and small roles on the big screen.
Rossum got her big break in 2004, when she landed the role as Christine Daae in the big-screen debut of "The Phantom of the Opera." The actress won the National Board of Review's Best Breakthrough Performance by an Actress and a Critic's Choice Award for Best Young Actress for her portrayal of Daae.
Before her big break, Rossum played the role of a lost daughter in 2003's "Mystic River." She co-starred with Jake Gyllenhaal in 2004's "The Day After Tomorrow," starred in "Dare" in 2009, and played Bulma in 2009's "Dragonball Evolution."
With singing as her true passion, Rossum released a solo album in 2007, titled "Inside Out," which debuted with rave reviews. Sadly, the album did not last a week on the Billboard 200 charts.
The artist, nonetheless, has countless future projects, and was once hailed by Variety as "One of the Ten to Watch."
Rossum made a smart move, in the eyes of a celebrity, when she secretly wed her music-producer beau, Justin Siegel, in early 2008. The couple began divorce proceeding in Summer 2009, but have proceeded on amicable terms.
