ABC set to bring back 'good' TV - launches fairytale/drama, revamps '70s classic

Have the latest TV line-ups bored you to tears? If so, this fall, you're in for a treat. ABC has picked up two new series--Once Upon A Time and Charlie's Angels--which are sure to delight your dried-up palette.

From the writers of Lost, Once Upon A Time brings together classic fairytales and modern times. Anna Swan (Jennifer Morrison) is enlightened by her long-lost son Henry (Jared Gilmore) that she is the missing daughter of Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin). According to the book of fairytales, Anna was sent away to escape the Evil Queen's (Lana Parilla) curse, which has frozen the fairytale world in time. Anna dismisses Henry's claims until she realizes that his hometown, Storybrooke, is more than it seems and that his foster mother is the Evil Queen, who is out to destroy her. Anna begins her quest to right the wrongs of Storybrooke and to inform its inhabitants that they hold the magic within them to set themselves free.

Charlie's Angels, from executive producers Leonard Goldberg (the original series) and Drew Barrymore (the Charlie's Angels' films), is an exciting revamp of the 1970's series. Abby (Rachael Taylor) is a "Park Avenue Princess" that becomes a world-class thief. Kate (Annie Ilonzeh) is a Miami cop that eventually loses her career and fiancé after a few dirty deals. Lastly, there's Gloria, an army lieutenant with a knack for explosives. One of the Angels' missions goes terribly wrong and ends in Gloria's death. Charlie, their boss, then suggests that the Angels team up with Eve (Minka Kelly), a childhood friend of Gloria's and a street racer with a strange past. Together, the girls are set to destroy the bad guys and earn their way(s) towards redemption.
