Report: Former management team sues Ke$ha for $14 million

The former management team of the chart-topping, record-breaking, tour de force that is Ke$ha claims that she owes them BIG for her overnight success and that they wish to collect before her success comes to an end.

DAS Communications, to which she was signed in 2006, is suing Ke$ha for $14 million in damages, claiming that her initial contract entitled them to 20 percent of her future endeavors, despite whether she stayed with the company or not. DAS claims Ke$ha initially kept her word, until Dr. Luke, her producer, begged her to end the relationship two years later. He is being sued for an additional $12 million.

In the suit, DAS says of Ke$ha: [Ke$ha is] a very young and inexperienced artist whose ‘star’ may not continue to rise. ...Although she has made an incredible amount of money in a very short period of time, in large part due to DAS’ efforts on her behalf, she could just as easily lose money if not properly guided.

Ke$ha is currently counter-suing the company, claiming that DAS acted as an "illegal talent agent." Her lawyer, Charles Ortner, claims that the suit is requiring her to pay commissions on her contract with RCA/Jive records, a contract that evolved after her departure from former management.

Ke$ha is currently readying for her Get $leazy tour, of which most dates are sold out. Her sophomore album, Cannibal, produced the No. 1 single We R Who We R, her second No. 1 since premiering as a solo artist in late 2009. Her debut album, Animal, is certified platinum.
