Congratulations are in order for Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade! The couple announced their engagement last night on Instagram.
In one post (above), Gabrielle captioned a photo of her hand flaunting the gorgeous rock with the words, "Sooooo this happened... #Yessss @dwyanewade." In another post of the same photo, Dwyane captioned it with the words, "She said YES!!! @gabunion."
He later posted another photo of what appears to be Gabrielle accepting the ring on the left and the ring being shown off in detail on the right (below). The post appears to be a repost by Dwyane from the maker of the ring, Jason of Beverly Hills.
The "Being Mary Jane" actress and Miami Heat star have been dating since 2009 and are sure to make more headlines once wedding details are announced. Congrats, guys!
UPDATE: In the days following the announcement, it was revealed that Dwyane had fathered a child with another woman while he and Gabrielle were on a break prior to their engagement. Dwyane has since confirmed the news, saying in a press conference this past Monday, "...I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that's evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her, with our lives."
Neither Gabrielle nor the child's mother--who was revealed to be Aja Metoyer, according to the Los Angeles Times--have released any official statements following Wade's announcement or the revelation of the news itself.
