Katy Perry releases teaser for new single, suggests 'baby blue'/candy image will 'burn' (video)


In the three years since Katy Perry released her last album, "Teenage Dream," fans have been in angst, wondering what she'll do next. A few days prior, it was reported by Billboard and other outlets that Katy's next album would be titled "Prism," after a giant gold truck was seen rumbling through the streets of Los Angeles on Monday, July 29. Perez Hilton reported that with the new album, Katy would stir away from her beloved cartoonish/candy image. 

In a teaser released today, Aug. 2 (above), Katy ignites a lighter before setting a blue wig aflame. In the status she included with the video on Facebook, she wrote, "WE DON'T NEED NO WATER LET THE BABY BLUE BURN," along with a link to the video and the hashtag "#Roar," adding fuel to the fire.

A few hours later, she released the following promotional image:


"Roar," which is believed to be Katy's first single from "Prism," is scheduled for released on Aug. 12. According to the gold truck that roamed the streets in Los Angeles, "Prism" is scheduled for released on Oct. 22.
